Okay, Not buying anymore polish...right after these two.

So I sort of broke my rule about not buying anymore polish until I went through my current collection. A friend of mine sent me a referral code for Julep and a code for my first box of polish to be free so it sort of doesn't count right? I mean I only paid for the shipping I didn't pay for the polish or anything. I mean who is going to say no to free nail polish? Not me! Besides they're so pretty. In fact if you want your first box free just go to Julep.com and enter FREEFB and all you'll have to pay for is the shipping.

Anyways on to the polish! My first maven box came with all sorts of goodies: a julep nail file, a nail polish remover pad, two polishes and an apricot hand scrub. The colors they sent me (which were based off a personality profile quiz I took upon signing up) were Mille  & Etta.

The first color I decided to use was Millie. It's a beautiful "vintage indigo creme". The color is opaque in one coat, and the creme finish has a great shine. Creme finish nail polishes are the most common and are--in essence-- pure color but this is the first time I've seen a polish that actually looks creamy. Not to say that my China Glaze polishes are creamy but this julep polish even looks decadent. I can see the reason that Julep is a bit more expensive but if all their products are this great I think they've just found a new loyal customer...right after I get through my collection.

Harvest moon

So for a while there I was going addicted to buying polish. In fact part of the reason I'm on my no-buy period is that I would grab a few polishes on clearance because "who could say no to $2 china glaze?" As a result I have quite a few polishes that I've not used.

First up is Harvest Moon-China Glaze. This one is a part of the Hunger games collection. I hadn't seen the movie or read the books but I saw the beautiful copper color and grabbed it. I hadn't used this polish before but I am loving how nicely it goes on. It's opaque in two coats and has a great shine.

It's not a color that I think I'd wear often but in the future it might be a lovely accent nail color.

Polish Polish Polish

I told myself that I wouldn't purchase anymore polish until I used each and every one of my current collection. That current collection contains 61 different polishes, including 13 stripers. If I really thought about it I don't think I'd say that I had a favorite brand but considering nearly one third of my polishes are China Glaze I guess I do!

For my first manicure I started with For Audrey-China Glaze. This is a beautiful color, a light mint blue-ish green. I remember when I first started collecting polish this was one that I saw online quite a bit. Every time I saw a manicure and thought to myself "I need that color" it would turn out to be For Audrey.

On top of that is a layer of Shine on Crazy Diamond-Orly. If I'm being perfectly honest I picked this polish up purely for the name. I'm a Pink Floyd fan and every time I saw this bottle of polish on the rack at Sally's I would go back and forth about buying it. I'm not usually huge on glitter but after finally bringing it home this has quickly become one of my favorites.

The glitter isn't too much, it adds a touch of sparkle without being obnoxious. Unless you count the scent. I'm not sure why but for some reason this polish smells like glue or something.

Well look at that first real post and I'm already 4% through my collection. Can't wait to keep painting.

A Beginning

I already have a food blog that I don't really update. I like writing but I want to keep that space about food. I just want a space to write and get my thoughts out. I'm giving myself something to write about too. The header of this blogger says "Nail Polish, Videogames & crafts" so that is what I'll be tackling.

Nail Polish

"I won't buy anymore polish!...right after these two bottles"

I have a somewhat modest collection of nail polish, under 70 polishes. Honestly that might sound like a lot of polish but most Lacqueristas have well over that. I was inspired by my best friend to write about nail polish. I have made a promise to myself that I am not going to purchase another bottle until I have used each and every one of the polishes in my current collection at least once.

Videogames

Honestly I'm not sure how much blogging I will be doing on videogames but hey they are a hobby of mine and we'll see what happens there. I'm currently in the middle of Bioshock 2 but afterward I'd like to tackle playing the legend of zelda. What I'd like to do is play in the order of the story arc. Zelda is one of those games that I think anyone could play over and over again.

Crafts

I'm a somewhat crafty person. I love working with perler beads & polymer clay, also I'm enjoy sewing and working on my cosplay costumes so this blog might turn into a bit of my personal cosplay blog.

Maybe it'll be something maybe it won't if nothing else it is something that will relieve my boredom.
